Lakers to sign Ron Artest

The lakers are going to make a huge splash this off season by signing Ron Artest. The deal is suppose to be a MLE but the lakers have given Artest the option to choose from 3 years to 5 years.

The signing comes as a surprise to most of the fans as the lakers were merely supposed to sign all of there free agents. One of the main reasons the lakers signed Ron Artest was for his feirce defense and the toughness he brings to your team. He was once a defensive player of the year, so the lakers expect the same defensive intensity from Artest.

This means end of Ariza’s tenure with lakers. The lakers caught the bluff of Ariza’s agent who wanted a deal worth 9 Million per year. The Lakers also didnt like the way David Lee was bad mouthing them in the media. In the end Ariza had to pay a price, instead of collecting rings he will be involved in a rebuilding process in Houston.
